Books and Bevs is a fledgling Bookshop and Cafe business, based in York, North Yorkshire. We are situated in the suburb of Acomb, just round the corner from our own home.

Why did we set up B&B? Before Books and Bevs, we have had careers in general management of Bars, Pubs, Bistro’s and Theatres, and having now expanded our family we wanted to set-up shop to work for ourselves in an environment we are truly passionate about - independent bookstores (and really good coffee).

Since opening in December 2025 we have been overwhelmed by the love and support from the Acomb and wider York community, including winning the Best Independent Retailer Award 2026 by the York Press. We proudly stock local authors, run author talks, creative workshops, monthly write-alongs, quarterly music nights and always happy to chat about hosting your events (from birthdays to baby showers, we’ve got room for all!)
